Vegan Sundried Tomato & Jalapeño Dip
Recipe for: Apple pie oatmeal.
½ cup oats
1 cup liquid(I used ½ cup water and ½ cup milk)
either 2 chopped dates or a handful raisins, or both!
½ mashed banana
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract + sugar
A dash of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg - for the apple
1-2 tsp honey
Peel and chop 3/4 of an apple. In a microwaveable bowl, combine apple, honey and spices. Mix well and microwave at low heat for 4-5 minutes or until the apple is soft.
Bring oats and liquid to a boil. Add banana and dates/raisins right before it boils, then add the spices. Add vanilla extract when most of the liquid has been absorbed. When it has reached your desired consistency, transfer to a bowl. Add a splash of milk, vanilla sugar and the apple. Stir until combined. I topped mine with the rest of the banana and apple, peanut butter, a sliced date, muesli and a drizzle of agave.

Green Smoothies 101
So what is a green smoothie? Basically it’s a smoothie that combines simple ingredients- a liquid (such as filtered water or coconut water), fruits of choice, and green vegetables (leafy greens more than anything). The Stripped Smoothie recipe is below, but don’t be afraid to create your own; that’s the beauty of it all!
But first, What’s the buzz? Green smoothies are getting a lot of hype for good reason! Here’s my breakdown of why these are an amazing addition to your eats:

New York City is TESTING A NEW OBESITY PREVENTION PROGRAM that promotes eating fresh fruits and vegetables by giving patients “prescriptions” for the healthy products.
The Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program will allocate $2 coupons called “Health Bucks” to low-income New Yorkers who might develop a heart condition or chronic illness if they don’t change their diets. The pilot program will begin at two hospitals in Harlem and the South Bronx. In BOTH NEIGHBORHOODS, one in four adults is obese and more than nine in ten adults reported eating less than the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables each day.
Tying the program to hospitals allows doctors to track participants’ progress over a four month period by monitoring their weight and body mass index. Participants will also have access to nutritional and dietary counseling.
When you work out, you must eat more or less of certain foods to achieve your goals. And that is why supplements can be a great help, because they provide the right quantities of nutrients you need.
